"Monarch" by Eric Van Cort of Van Cort Instrument Makers is a production parlor kaleidoscope from 1989 made of brass, mahogany and mahogany veneer. This scope has a dry object cell with a turning end and a 2-mirror system. The object cell has handmade multi-colored glass pieces and glass beads. This scope is a stylized reproduction of the C. G. Bush classic American Scope. The turning end is a ship's wheel style and the scope measures 13-1/2"T x 9-5/8"L x 2-1/2 in diameter at the eyepiece end. The four-footed base is 7"W. This scope is marked "Van Cort Instrument Makers 1989" on the eyepiece end of the scope.
